Cathie Cashemere, hosted this month's Sydney Moodle User Group meeting and many folks turned up to celebrate the official launch of the Sutherland Shire Moodle User Group!
The night was focused on delving deep into Moodle.

Introduction
So many schools are now using Moodle. We've certainly come a long way in a short time. However, most pundits would admit that it has taken longer to implement effective elearning strategies in schools than in any other educational sectors, such as higher education or corporate training.
Those of us in the school ICT field certainly have to focus on the victories rather than on the sometimes slow uptake. The fact is, Moodle works well in schools due to low entry costs and willingness of school leaders to get on-board.

As with many things in life, it pays to not reinvent the wheel when planning and supporting an open source solution such as Moodle. Over the years I have witnessed many innovations found on the main support site at moodle.org and one such change came about when they added the Modules and Plugins Database. Bravo to the moodle.org team for adding a well needed feature.
